The First Test
Kobato knows what she must do to complete her mission. We first see Kobato in a little pipe in a playground and Ioryogi, shouts at Kobato for being so stupid. Ioryogi, questions Kobato about what her mission is and in order to complete her mission she must aquire a bottle and to get this bottle, she must pass a test to see whether she can live here and to see if she can complete her mission. He tests her to see whether she has any common sense. She approaches the nearest bench and puts a newpaper on top of her. Ioryogi, gets really angry so they decide to hit the street (not literally) and when Kobato asks a person whether they need any help, they give her a rubbish bag full of rubbish. Not sure what to do with the bag, she takes it to the rubbish collections and when she sees that you should throw as little waste away, she notices some crows and chucks all of the contents of the bag to the crows. When they are back at the park, Ioryogi gives Kobato zero points and she tells him that she is going to get the points next time.

The Secret of the Nabe!?
Kobato and Ioryogi are walking down the street when Ioryogi tells Kobato that he thinks that she doesn't have any common sense. She decides to prove him wrong by trying to draw on concrete with her finger. Fujimoto is working when he gets a phone call off Sayaka-sensei from school who tells him that they are at the school again. He stops the job he is doing at the moment and goes to help Sayaka. When Kobato notices the little stall, she offers to help and Ioryogi, makes this job her next exam. When Kobato is faced with making the nabe, she doesn't make the nabe properly, by adding too much milk etc but when the customer tries it, he thinks it is delicious, even Ioryogi takes a liking to it. He gives her 40 points in her second exam.

Kobato's Christmas
Kobato is on the high street on christmas eve. Ioryogi doesn't think that Kobato knows much about Christmas so he asks her to do something in the christmas spirit. She asks 2 people if they want to stay in a hotel with kobato. When Kobato is only with Ioryogi, she tells him that she saw someone on the TV offer to stay in a hotel with them. Chiho and Chise hear a sound from the alley way that Kobato and Ioryogi are but their mother, Chitose, says that it was only a cat. When Kobato hears Chitose talk about Christmas cake, Kobato decides she has to get a cake, although she is offered a job to sell cakes for the local bakery and in return the baker, gives her a christmas cake. When she is back in the park, she sees a woman worrying about not getting a cake for her son so she gives the woman, her cake. Ioryogi mentions that it was because she was wearing a santas hat and therefore gives her 90 points when it suddenly starts to snow.

A Wonderful New Year's Gift
Kobato is once again on the high street on january the first. She notices that it is really quiet and Ioryogi tells her that it is a holiday and most people would take the time off work. Kobato goes to the bakery and finds out that it won't be open till the 3rd of January so she sits down on the step of the bakery and when Ioryogi asks what she is doing, she replies saying that she will rest in front of the bakery until the 3rd of january. Ioryogi tells Kobato that people don't normally have a rest in front of a store when they have a holiday. With nobody around, Ioryogi realises that he can't give a test to Kobato but Kobato urges Ioryogi to give her another test to be able to fill up her bottle. When an old women comes out of her house, Ioryogi asks Kobato to go and help her which Kobato instantly does. She helps the old woman with moving her stuff and the old woman then offers to let Kobato come into her house for a while since there are some more things to be done. Kobato notices a fortune telling object although she stays very late with the old woman but the old woman doesn't mind. To thank Kobato for helping her, she gives her mochi and says that she is sure that Ioryogi might like to have a bit and talks to the little fella and hopes that Kobato's wish will come true.

Chocolate & Valentines
It's Valentines Day and Kobato is once again on the streets. Fascinated by the amount of ribbons and chocolates, Ioryogi asks Kobato if she knows about Valentines day and surprisingly, Kobato knows all about it although there is always a catch since she starts thinking if valen-san and tine-san were twins (strange). Next, we see Sayaka looking at the chocolates in a little shop as she is waiting for her chocolates for the Nursery to arrive. The chocolates are handed to Sayaka as the shop assistant tells her that the children are going to love the chocolates and Sayaka thanks the woman before the owner of the shop comes up to her and says that she should be thanking Fujimoto for all the help. She leaves the shop and mentions that she will come back to the shop. Kobato is walking around and she keeps saying to herself that she can't split valen and tine into too and trying to remember. Sayaka is looking at the chocolate cigarettes that she picked up in the shop and mentions something about what he liked long ago before hurrying back to the nursery school and dropping the box of chocolates. Kobato notices the chocolates and instantly realises that it must be for someone. She starts thinking about the surroundings and realises that she must take the chocolates to the person so she shouts out loud if anyone has dropped some chocolates. After getting no reply, she picks up Ioryogi and runs off to find the person. Sayaka is back at the nursery and is greeted by Fujimoto. She apologises for leaving him on his own and also thanks him for working for the chocolate shop. She notices that she has lost the chocolate cigarettes but thinks it was never meant to be. It's nighttime and Kobato hasn't found the person. Ioryogi points out that Kobato could have just given the chocolates to the police instead of running around but instead he gives her 35 points for her efforts and with that, they eat the Valentines chocolates.

What's hanami mean?
The Sakura's are blooming as we see Kobato under a Cherry blossom tree. Ioryogi asks Kobato what it means and she replies saying 'Hanami' therefore it's time to party (apparently). Ioryogi says that she should know what to do in this situation but Kobato just sits down. Ioryogi thinks that she is scared but she says that she thought Ioryogi might get angry with her although he does tell her that there is more than just sitting. Ioryogi sets Kobato a next challenge, which is to act like a normal person at a Hanami. Kobato is all of a sudden popular when a couple of people ask her whether they can drink with her. Ioryogi decides to go for a wander to get some sake whilst Fujimoto and Sayaka are looking for a nice spot under the cherry blossom trees and they don't seem to want the children to be in this drunk crowd. Kobato is offered drink after drink, which she always declines until she is forced to dance and is then asked to sing. She performs spectacularly as Ioryogi and the whole crowd are fascinated by her singing, She is then asked to sing again and Sayaka makes a comment that the person singing must be a really nice person. Ioryogi seems to be in a good mood and gives Kobato 95 points.

Kobato on a Rainy Day
It's a very rainy day as Kobato is sat in her little pipe watching the rain and Ioryogi sets her a challenge, which is to act normal on a rainy day. Kobato rushes out of her pipe and starts looking around under a tree. When Ioryogi asks what she is doing, she tells him that she is trying to find a leaf. Ioryogi gets really angry and fires his laser beam at her and takes her to the street to show her how other people act on a rainy day but all of a sudden there is a gust of wind and her hat almost blows off. Ioryogi mentions that it was a close one and that she must never take her hat off. The owner of the chocolate shop notices Kobato and hands her an umbrella but when she tells him that she has no money, he tells her not to worry but she tells him that she will borrow it and bring it back after the rain has stopped. Walking along the street, Kobato goes into the convenience store to learn more about thing and put her umbrella to the side in the store. After going round the store, she is about to leave but realises that the umbrella is gone. Kobato thinks that she might be at fault but Ioryogi points out that it is raining really hard so nobody would care although Kobato mentions that they should know that they are causing trouble for the owner of the umbrella. A little boy asks Kobato what is wrong and she tells him that she has lost her umbrella. He offers his umbrella to her and tells her that he is with someone else so it doesn't matter. Kobato keeps muttering about what has happened during the day and Ioryogi points out that some people also steal without the owner's permission and that there are different people and that she must heal their hearts. Kobato asks how she did and Ioryogi starts off saying that she has done really well before she falls over and he gives her 0 points.

Ioryogi-san and Beer-san
It's a boiling hot day as we see Kobato sitting on a park bench muttering about how hot it is. Kobato annoys Ioryogi with her complaining and he finally shoots a laser beam at her causing him to over heat. Kobato mentions that she will get some water for Ioryogi but he points out that it will be as refreshing as hot sake. Kobato doesn’t know what drink to get Ioryogi but he points out that the only thing he wants is Beer, and he tells Kobato all about Beer. Although Ioryogi realises that they have no money and then starts whining about how they could tackle the global warming problem with ice cold beer. Kobato thinks about it and realises that they might give away a free sample of Beer and rushes away into the distance. A voice comes form the trees talking about Ioryogi's form, and the creature name is Ginsei. Ioryogi mentions that he likes the name and form and Ginsei asks whether Ioryogi has forgotten his real name. Ioryogi tells Ginsei that he not allowed to lay a finger on Kobato and that he would take Ginsei on so they fight although Ioryogi wins and mentions that whatever form he is in he is the best. Ginsei leaves and tells Ioryogi that they will finish it off one day. As he leaves, Ioryogi mentions that Ginsei is a pain in the arse.

The Results of the Test are...!?
For Kobato's 9th exam, she has to get some beer for Ioryogi. Ioryogi, is really hot and needs some cold beer, which Kobato successfully manages to get for Ioryogi although when she opens it, all of the contents of the can, goes all over Ioryogi. She tells Ioryogi that she was trying so hard to get the points so Ioryogi, even though, he isn't happy about what she did, gives her +100 points for her to get the bottle off Ioryogi. Ioryogi, asks kobato about her wish and then tells her that she has passed and she gets the bottle so that she can heal other people's hearts.
